Limpsfield Community Orchard

At Limpsfield Memorial Stores, we are lucky to work with a range of brilliant local businesses, projects and organisations. This summer and autumn, we have enjoyed offering customers a plethora of gorgeous, juicy apples thanks to the wonderful Limpsfield Community Orchard which has donated produce.

The Orchard is a community project which began 15 years ago. Its purpose is to have a fruitful orchard nurtured by a team of local volunteers using environmentally friendly methods. It is a place of colour, wonder and nature, and also donates produce to schools and the community fridge.

Under licence from the National Trust, the land now boasts 24 apple trees, 6 pear trees, 3 Mirabelle and 3 Damson plum trees. These trees are screened by 250 hedging plants and many wild flowers.

In addition to enjoying apples from our store, you can also visit the Community Orchard: it is open to the public through all the seasons and welcomes schools and children’s groups. A wassail takes place each year in January

If you’d like to get involved and be a part of the Orchard, you can find out more information here
